This messy handwriting is from a journal entry last July. My coach, Simone Seol, gave us 3 minutes to finish the sentence, “I care profoundly that…”.

This is a fantastic exercise to do as you plan for 2023. I’d suggest doing this exercise RIGHT NOW if you have 3 minutes because spontaneous answers are the most revealing. It's more likely you'll discover something important that’s been below the surface.

I still find what I wrote useful as I think about my goals now:

- I care profoundly that people see the full breadth of what’s possible for them. That they don’t box themselves in by artificial values society makes up, by the narrow thinking of people around them, by the constrained ways schools have taught them to analyse things and order their life.

- I care proundly that people become free to share their brilliance, their unique gifts, what’s in their hearts they’re yearning to create.

- I care profoundly that people open up to see the amazing beauty around them and in them, so they can see it in others.

- I care profoundly that we all find the light and see ourselves as part of a creative whole, and we marshall those creative forces in a beautiful, forceful (impactful) and healing way.

- I care profoundly that we open up to the light of possibility and move out of the darkness of the boxes we’ve unconsciously been using to constrain ourselves.

I can almost guarantee you'll be rewarded if you don't flip past this and try it out. Have fun! I'd love to hear what you discover when you do this.

A woman cried when I told her my paintings reflect the beauty in her.

When we appreciate something else or someone else, it’s because those qualities we most admire are in us.

It's as if we all have amnesia about our own goodness.

We get lost in our everyday challenges, in our striving, in our attempts to be better, go harder, accomplish more.

May you make every decision in 2023 fueled by the knowledge, “I am already good enough.”
