When we let other people’s opinions about what we SHOULD do control our decisions, they’re “driving our bus”.

In this episode, I dive into why so many of us let someone less qualified than us drive our bus. When we do this, we exclude ourselves from experiencing the side journeys and fascinating explorations that would help us grow and evolve and become the person we want to be.

There will always be other people we know and respect who will think that some of the choices we want to make are wrong. They don’t understand that it’s exactly those choices we NEED to make to find out more about own values, passions and interests, step into our natural magnificence, and chart our own unique paths.

Other people’s objections, no matter how earnest or filled with conviction, have nothing to do with us and everything to do with them.

We can love all the people in our lives AND not let them drive our bus.

My mission in this podcast is to help you find the freedom to become who you want. In every episode, I arm you with one useful idea or strategy you can use immediately to start taking your life in a beautiful, new direction.

To celebrate the first 4 weeks of my podcast launch, I’ve created a super fun contest. To enter the contest, you’ll need to subscribe for “The Unlikely Artist” on Apple Podcasts and leave me a review. When you subscribe, just scroll down and click on “Ratings & Reviews” to leave your review. Make sure to take a photo of your review and post it on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn and tag me (https://www.instagram.com/gracedcanvascoaching/, https://www.facebook.com/heatherirenekerr, https://www.linkedin.com/in/heatherkerr/) or send me an email to heather@gracedcanvas.com with a copy of your photo so I’ll know who you are and can reach you if you win!

When I see your photo, I’ll add your name to a hat. I’ll be doing a weekly draw for a free one-hour dream analysis session. This session is something outside my normal coaching program, so it’s a rare opportunity. It’s a fun and useful way to access deeper truths about what you really want and inner wisdom that could really serve you right now. If you’re not the kind of person who remembers your dreams, no problem! I have another fun way to apply the dream methodology to your waking thoughts and get similar insights. I guarantee you’ll be intrigued to discover the wisdom inside of you.

If you’ve found something you hear on my podcast useful, have suggestions about topics you’d like me to explore, or have ideas about how I could improve the podcast, I’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested in finding out how to take this work deeper, sign up for a free one-hour personal strategy session. In this coaching consultation, we’ll talk through your challenges and all the things that are keeping you from creating the life you want. I’ll share my insights about what I think the real issues are (usually not what you think!) and then I’ll share the process we’d go together to get you moving forward in the direction you want. Whether we decide to work together or not, you’ll walk away with some a ha’s and new ways to tackle your issues. Click on this link to book your free strategy session https://gracedcanvascalendar.as.me/freestrategysession. I’m a former international tax lawyer and senior partner with Ernst & Young. I left the law in 2014 to learn how to paint. After a couple years painting and selling my work, I became passionate about helping other people who feel stuck in their careers and lives and want to feel more personally fulfilled, invigorated and soul connected. I now spend my time painting, coaching and creating live events at the George Russell Academy of Creative Expansion in beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.
